Two masked men, one of whom may have had a gun, robbed the Family Dollar store, 2186 Parkman Road NW, at 9:21 p.m. Saturday.

A clerk reported a man wearing a mask and having something wrapped in his hand approached her while she was in an aisle. He put his hand on her neck and shoulder area and shoved her to the checkout area. The other male, who also wore a mask and had a bookbag, took about 20 packs of cigarettes from near the register. One of the men took cash from the register, and both men fled.

STRUTHERS

Struthers Middle School is having a preliminary competition for the 2018 National Geographic Bee at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the auditorium.

The champion of the Struthers prelim will advance to a qualifying test to determine state competitors. For the past 30 years, the National Geographic Society has been hosting the National Geographic Bee for fourth- through eighth-graders. The national championship will take place May 20-23 in Washington, D.C.
