HONOR

KeyCorp’s Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer Beth Mooney was named 2017 “Banker of the Year” by American Banker magazine.

NOMINATED

A local Salem auto dealer was nominated for the 2018 TIME Dealer of the Year Award, a prestigious national award for dealers who stand out in their community awarded by TIME in partnership with Ally Financial.

This nomination recognizes Flor “Shorty” Navarro, owner and dealer principal at Stadium GM Superstore, a Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC dealer, as one of the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrates a long-standing commitment to community service. Navarro will be honored at the annual National Automobile Dealers Association Show in 2018.

RECOGNITION

Farmers National Banc Corp. was recently recognized as a 2017 Weatherhead 100 Company, an award from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

Farmers joins an elite group of businesses throughout Northeast Ohio who represent leadership, growth and success in the region. Companies that make the list are recognized for their percent of revenue growth over the past five years. This marks the first year Farmers has received this distinction.

AWARD

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s 2016 Victory for the Valley initiative and ongoing Community Connectors program both received recognition from the Mid-America Economic Development Council at its annual Competitiveness Conference and Site Selector Forum in Chicago.

The MAEDC, which comprises economic development professionals/members in 12 Midwest states, honored the Chamber’s Victory for the Valley initiative as the winner in the 2017 Economic Development Awards’ Marketing Program category, while Community Connectors was chosen as a runner-up for the Workforce Development category.

The Chamber’s Lauren Johnson, manager of the 422 Corridor and Mahoning County Business Development, attended the MAEDC conference last week and accepted the awards on behalf of the organization.

HIRED

IM Image Marketing, a graphic and web design company based in Canfield, has recently hired Abigail Wakefield as a public relations specialist.

Before this position, Wakefield worked as a freelance public relations and marketing consultant.
