Parrottino’s shorthanded goal lifts Phantoms

Tommy Parrottino’s shorthanded goal with less than four minutes remaining in regulation lifted the Youngstown Phantoms to their sixth straight victory.

Friday at the Denny Stanford Premier enter, the Phantoms (11-5-2-1, 25 points) defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede, 5-3, to take sole possession of first place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.

It was Parrottino’s second goal of the game. Matt Thomson and Julian Kislin also scored.

Goaltender Wooter Peeters made 21 saves to earn his fifth victory.

“I felt like everyone that touched the ice for us had an impact on the game.” Phantoms head coach Brad Patterson said.

The Phantoms and Stampede play again tonight.
