New tattoo shop opens in Howland

HOWLAND

Pretty In Ink Tattoos LLC has opened a new business at 4248 North River Road NE and is accepting clients by appointment.

The owner, Emily Wills, is a graduate of Kent State University with an art history degree and has built up a local following for her tattoo designs.

Her location has ample parking, is next to a bakery and gym and has a nice outward appearance – thanks to Howland’s work with new paving, sidewalks, curbs and landscaping.

The studio is furnished so clients can relax and feel comfortable, and operator-client sanitation and protection are a foremost concern at Pretty In Ink Tattoos.

Business hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. To schedule an appointment, call 330-469-5017.

Companies join fight over monuments

SALT LAKE CITY

Outdoor clothing giant Patagonia and other retailers have jumped into a legal and political battle over President Donald Trump’s plan to shrink two sprawling Utah national monuments, a fight that would scare off most companies but galvanizes customers of outdoor brands that value environmental activism.

Patagonia filed a lawsuit Wednesday evening over Trump’s announcement this week cutting Bears Ears National Monument by 85 percent. The lawsuit, filed in conjunction with a rock-climbing advocacy group and other organizations, is among a flurry of lawsuits that have been filed over Trump’s move to reduce the size of Bears Ears and also cut the land protected in Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in half.

California-based Patagonia’s legal move followed a spat Tuesday with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, who accused the company of lying when it replaced its usual home page with a black screen and stark message: “The President Stole Your Land.”
