Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc., will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., and the NCNW’s 9th annual “Hats Off to Seniors” holiday luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon is free to seniors age 70 and older who have made reservations or received tickets. Cost is $12 for all others. Activities include a Christmas story, music, bingo, door prizes and a hat parade.

Poland Historical Society members are invited to a Christmas dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road. Entree, dessert and beverage will be provided by the society. Salem Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dale Shaffer Library meeting room, 239 S. Lundy Ave. The public is invited and the “State Theatre Carolers” will entertain. Installation of 2018 officers and trustees also will take place.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 16 at Kravitz’s Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., for “Memories of a Lifetime” with Sean Posey, local historian and author. Admission is $5 and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and a 50-50 raffle will take place to benefit the society’s education mission. Reservations are suggested. Walk-ins will be admitted based on seating availability.

The ostomy support group provides a safe, caring place for people to tell their story among others who understand and share their experiences and feelings. Family members and people considering an ostomy are welcome. The group offers education, encouragement and support to anyone whose life is affected by an ostomy.
