Anniversary marked

Komar Anchor Plumbing and Drain Service, a local full-service residential and commercial plumbing contractor, celebrates the one-year anniversary of the company’s merger.

Anchor Plumbing purchased Komar Plumbing in December 2016, merging the two companies to form Komar Anchor Plumbing & Drain Service. Komar Plumbing had been in business for 53 years when the owner decided to retire. Many long-term employees of Komar Plumbing stayed with the company through the merger and still remain employees.

Nonprofit funding

Youngstown

Nonprofits that offer or want to offer financial literacy services to help consumers better manage their money are encouraged to apply for funding from Citizens Bank. Applications will be accepted from Monday to Dec. 29, as part of the “Citizens Helping Citizens Manage Money” financial literacy initiative.

12 years celebrated

Victoria House Assisted Living in Austintown is celebrating its 12th year in operation this month. In commemoration of its success, the staff and residents recently hosted the community with an evening of music, champagne and hors d’oeuvres.

At the shop, customers can buy candy in bulk, discover a rotating selection of regional goodies and find sweet gifts.

Ribbon-cutting

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. today at Lehner Carroll Shope Capital Management, 4366 Boardman-Canfield Road.

New bank branch

MINERVA

Consumers National Bank announced it has received approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for its application to operate a new full-service branch office at 3680 Embassy Parkway in Fairlawn.

The approval marks the bank’s first full-service branch in Summit County and the 14th branch office in its network. Consumers National Bank anticipates banking operations at the new Fairlawn office will begin in summer 2018.
