The Junior Group of Goodwill auction and jewelry sale is set for Feb. 16, 2018, at Stambaugh Auditorium. It will include Goodwill collectible jewelry, a silent auction of fine jewelry and collectibles, vintage clothing, basket raffle, 50-50 raffle, basket auction, hors d’oeuvres, pastries and cash bar. CRAFT SHOWS

St. Anne Ukrainian Church will host a dessert walk and craft show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in the church hall, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. Vendors are needed for cookies, pies, cakes, kolachi, pumpkin rolls, clothespins, soup and dip mixes, crafters and more. Tables are $35 for an 8-foot table with chairs. A portion of the proceeds benefits the church’s program for collecting and giving toys to needy children for Christmas. The public is welcome to bring an unwrapped toy for children age infant to 17 (toys for 13 to 17-year-old boys are most needed). Vendors call 330-974-3333.

DANCES

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., is offering community dance lessons at 4 p.m. Wednesdays. Each lesson is one hour, and the cost is $5 per lesson. Niles Friendly Squares will offer square dance lessons from Jan. 9, 2018, through April at Niles S.C.O.P.E. Center, 14 E. State St. An introductory session will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 9. Sessions are designed to cover steps in the basic square dance program. Gene Hammond will be the instructor. There is a fee of $6 per lesson. FUNDRAISERS

Campbell Memorial Marching Band is inviting the community to take a bus trip to New York City. The cost is $99 per person. The bus will depart from Campbell Memorial High School at 11 p.m. Friday and return around 7 a.m. Sunday. All seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, and payment is due when reservations are made. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All proceeds benefit the Campbell Band Program. Bunnies in Baskets, an F5RS, a bunny rescue and sanctuary, will host its holiday open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 11836 South Ave., Bldg. E, in the Old School Marketplace. Participants will have the opportunity to meet adoptable bunnies, make a toy for the rescue and one to take home, purchase treats for small pets and learn about the Bunnies in Baskets therapy program. The event also will offer animal-themed jewelry, Christmas items, T-shirts and a Scentsy raffle. Refreshments will be provided. The Trumbull County Republican Party will host a Christmas fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 19 at Greene Eagle Winery, 2576 Davis Peck Road, Cortland. Youngstown Area Community Concert Band and the Stambaugh Chorus, will present the 7th annual Holiday Concert of Giving at 4 p.m. Dec. 17 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. The concert raises funds for the Second Harvest Food Bank with cash or check donations to be collected at the door. No food donations will be accepted. This 90-minute program will feature sacred and secular Christmas music.

Sutliff Museum will host its final presentation of its fall lecture series, “Victorian Collections and Coffee” at 9 a.m. Thursday with a presentation on the impact of the industrial revolution on architecture. Teresa Etzler, owner of Posh Places, will discuss how the industrial revolution affected Victorian architecture and how that influence extends to today. Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Ave., Boardman (next to West Blvd. School), is hosting a cookie walk and craft sale Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. or until sold out. Homemade cookies are $5.50 per dozen. A portion of the proceeds will support church charities.

Boardman United Methodist Church is collecting items for Veterans Outreach. Items needed include white tube socks, toilet paper, toiletries, shampoo, bar soap, body wash, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, disposable razors, combs and brushes. Drop off donations at 6809 Market St., Boardman.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently-used clothing for the entire family. December’s sale includes a large inventory of men’s clothing and dress shirts packaged at 50 percent off; ladies sweaters, sweatshirts, slacks and jeans are $2; and all men’s and women’s coats are 50 percent off. Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., is sponsoring “Memories of Christmas Past” through Jan. 7. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and noon to 7 p.m. Thursdays. The museum is closed Mondays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. First Friday Club Speakers Luncheon Series will host Diana Hayes, JD, Ph.D., STD, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. Youngstown Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. will offer its Kwanzaa Festivities and Showcase at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave., from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 16. The theme is FOCUS: Families Organized Creating Unified Success. The event will include a meal, Kwanzaa drummers, display tables highlighting the group’s achievements and an opportunity to ask questions. Participants are asked to take donations of diapers of all sizes to benefit the Barbara M. Wick Transitional House. Those who take donations will be entered to win a raffle item.
