Residents who tried to stop beating were stopped at gunpoint
YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said residents at a Tyrell Avenue apartment complex Saturday who tried to help a man who was being beaten by two men were held off at gunpoint.
Officers were called at about 1:25 p.m. to the complex after receiving several calls that two men were beating a 39-year-old man from East Liverpool.
When officers arrived they found the man in his truck, which had crashed into a telephone pole.
Reports said the victim told police he was waiting for a friend in the parking lot when two men came out and started beating him. He then chased one of them in his truck before he crashed, reports said.
The man had injuries to his face, reports said.
