YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Auditor Ralph Meacham today announced a government transparency program that organizes the county’s financial data into easy-to-read graphs and charts.

Citizens can access the transparency module online to examine revenues, expenditures and budgets by going to the “transparency” tab at the county auditor’s website – auditor.mahoningcountyoh.gov

Data can be organized by category, department, government area, fund and vendor.

For example, taxpayers will be able to: review total spending to date, see how funds are appropriates by department, examine which vendors receive payments in a given year, and research spending for health care and benefits.

“This latest addition to my transparency initiative is very exciting,” Meacham said. “The module is user-friendly and will be enlightening for our citizens as well as helpful to other government entities at no additional costs to taxpayers.

"OhioCheckbook.com will still be available through the auditor’s website, also at no cost to the county.”
