Cops crack this case: Man says he forgot about the pot in his buttocks

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said one of two men who was arrested Sunday afternoon after a short chase on the South Side told police he forgot he had four bags of marijuana in his buttocks after they were found by corrections officers at the Mahoning County jail.
Officers tried to pull over a car about 4:05 p.m. for running a stop sign and the driver, Jermaine Beverly, 28, of Market Street, and the passenger Antonio Crockett, 31, of Dogwood Lane, ran after the car pulled into a drive in the 500 block of Sherwood Avenue.
Crockett was caught by officer Travis Sheely after a short foot chase. Officer Mark Sember jumped over a fence to catch Crockett, reports said.
Reports said Crockett had eight pills in a bag he was carrying and 12 bags of marijuana in his pockets.
Both men were taken to the Mahoning County jail.
At the jail reports said corrections officers found four bags of marijuana in Crockett's buttocks and he told them: "I forgot they were there," reports said.
Reports said a wallet with $980 fell out of Beverly's pants when he was being booked. Both men are expected to be arraigned later today in municipal court.
