Amy M. Clauss, 42, of Gretchen Drive in Howland was arraigned in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on felony charges of theft in office, forgery and tampering with records relating to her former job at the county Department of Job and Family Services.
Clauss is accused of arranging benefits for family members or friends who should not have been eligible. The value of the theft was $17,469, and the money was misappropriated from January 2014 through January 2017, according to her indictment. She pleaded not guilty, and her bond is $5,000.
8th annual car show
BOARDMAN
Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities will have its eighth annual Hot Rod and Classic Car Show from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bev MASCO facility at 825 Bev Road.
The show will include food, games, music and dancing. The board will collect donations of canned goods and money at the car show for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
Police probe shooting
YOUNGSTOWN
Detectives are investigating after a 24-year-old man was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Friday for a bullet wound in the neck.
Police were called about 8:45 p.m. to a home in the 300 block of Rockview Avenue, where they found the man bleeding on the porch. The victim told police he was walking on Edwards Street when a man asked him for change. The victim said when he reached for his wallet, the man pulled a handgun and shot him.
