Attorney says his client killed 3-year-old by mistake

WARREN

The attorney for Arthur Harper told jurors this morning that Arthur Harper is guilty of killing Russell Cottrill, 3, in 2015, but it was a mistake, and he's not guilty of murder.

Harper, 45, of High Street Northeast is charged with murder, child endangering and felonious assault and could get a life prison sentence if convicted.

Harper's attorney, John Juhasz, told the jury this during opening statements in Harper's trial.

Testimony in the trial has since begun with a Trumbull County 911 operator on the witness stand.
