Firefighters battle Princeton Avenue house fire twice


YOUNGSTOWN — Firefighters are investigating after a 160 W. Princeton Ave. home that is occupied caught fire twice over the weekend.

Crews were called there about 4:40 a.m. Sunday and when they arrived they were told a family of four lived in the house. Firefighters did a search but found no one inside. Reports said there was a fire on the second floor and the attic.

A firefighter injured his ankle and was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injury, reports said. Damage is listed at $12,000 for that fire.

About 3 a.m. today crews were called back and found a fire in the roof, reports said. Crews had to go inside to put that blaze out.

Damage is listed at an additional $2,000 for the second fire. There were no injuries.
