Carmella Marie’s ‘Let’s Talk Hair’ conference returns to Youngstown

Carmella Marie, a natural hair, beauty and lifestyle company, announces the return of “Let’s Talk Hair: The Mane Event for Ohio Naturals” on Sept. 30 in the Chestnut Room at Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center.

Doors open at 10 a.m., and the conference runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5, and children 17 and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult. There will be giveaways, vendors and product demonstrations.

The Mane VIP is $50 and includes a pre-show mixer Sept. 29 at the Youngstown Business Incubator in the Women in Entrepreneurship Center.

The sessions help women feel more comfortable wearing their hair in its natural state by educating them on the correct tools, products and techniques. There will be a street-style fashion and hair show to conclude the event. The market place will be filled with women-owned businesses that the community can support.

Carmella Marie Inc. is a female-owned business based in Youngstown and was the first recipient of the WE Launch Program’s Business Pitch Competition in 2016. Founded in July 2013, Carmella Marie products are retailed in 11 stores and salons across the nation. Carmella Marie’s Pop Up Salon was featured by Refinery29.
