Recipes of Youngstown establishes scholarship fund

Bobbi Allen and Keith Evans from the Recipes of Youngstown Facebook group, along with representatives from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, presented a check to the Youngstown State University Foundation recently to officially establish a scholarship fund for veteran students attending YSU. Funds were collected through cookbook sales and from tasting events. The initial donation is $13,350. Allen, founder of Recipes of Youngstown, hopes to see the fund reach $100,000. The Mahoning Valley Historical Society has assisted with the sales of the cookbooks. Above, from left, are retired Maj.
