Youngstown police make two weekend gun arrests


YOUNGSTOWN — Police made two gun arrests over the weekend.

About 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Ramon Jones, 23, of Euclid Boulevard, was arrested after police found a loaded handgun in his car while pulling him over at Berkley Avenue and McGuffey Road for a suspended license.

About 11:45 p.m. Friday, Kenneth Coates, 27, of Delaware Avenue, was arrested at Albert and Kimmel streets after he was pulled over for having no front license plate light. Police found two bags of marijuana in his shirt pocket and a loaded .22-caliber handgun under the seat.

Both men are in the Mahoning County jail and are expected to be arraigned in municipal court later today.
