“The Last Ship” (9 p.m., TNT): “The Last Ship” returns with back-to-back episodes. Based on William Brinkley’s popular novel, the series chronicles the aftermath of a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world’s population. Because of its positioning, the Navy destroyer U.S.S. Nathan James avoided falling victim to the devastating tragedy. Now, CNO Captain Tom Chandler (Dane) and his crew must confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they may be among the few remaining survivors. In tonight’s season opener, the crew is facing yet another global disaster.

“Survivor’s Remorse” (10 p.m., Starz): In the season four premiere, basketball star Cam Calloway continues to discover life off the court isn’t easy. The past he has been desperately trying to avoid comes rushing back with a vengeance and family secrets threaten to destroy everything he has worked so hard to achieve.

“Episodes” (10 p.m., Showtime): As the Hollywood satire launches its fifth and final season, Sean (Stephen Mangan), Beverly (Tamsin Greig) and Matt (Matt LeBlanc) have all hit rock bottom. Several months have passed and their game show is now a runaway hit. Unfortunately for Matt, this means he is now only thought of as a game-show host, his years as an actor completely forgotten.
