Kochert recognized by the Ohio Federation of Republican Women

The Canfield Republican Women’s Club recently announced that Nancy Kochert has been recognized by the Ohio Federation of Republican Women’s biennial Tribute to Women.

This event takes place to celebrate the leadership capabilities, community contributions and personal values of the women who belong to Ohio’s Federated Clubs. The event took place on July 9 at Worthington Hills Country Club in Columbus.

A native of Canfield, Kochert attended Canfield schools and graduated from Canfield High School in 1949. She participated in numerous extra-curricular activities. She graduated from Muskingum College in June of 1953 with a degree in Elementary Education. Canfield schools employed her for 23 years.

Kochert has been a participant of Canfield Dublin Grange, Canfield Women’s Club, Wimodausis III (past President), Canfield Community Chest (25 years), Canfield Republican Women’s Club (31 years) and the National Society Daughters of Colonial Wars.

Kochert co-authored “The Story of Canfield, Ohio,” with audio-visual aids for use in the Canfield local schools. She was a committee member for “Canfield Schools 200 Years Celebration” and volunteered for “Canfield First Night Celebration for 14 years. She also co-chaired the “Canfield High School Class Reunions 1948 and 49.”

As a member of the CRWC, she has served as a CRWC Board member in various positions, participated in numerous fundraising activities, contributed to community outreach events and continues to promote the values of the Republican platform.
