ASSOCIATIONS

Guilford Lake Civic Association will have its annual covered dish picnic at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 in the Ruritan building at the intersection of Route 172 and Hanna Dr. Hotdogs and drinks will be provided. Adam Newbold, Advanced Training Group Worldwide in Lisbon, will be the guest speaker.

CLASSES

Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Johnny’s Restaurant, Market Street, Boardman. Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1965 will celebrate its 70th birthday with a barbecue that will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Youngstown Shrine Club pavilion, 1735 W. South Range Road, North Lima. Guests are welcome.

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., Girard.

Moose Club is looking for former and prospective members in the Youngstown and Niles area to begin meetings. POLITICAL CLUBS

Trumbull County Republican Party will meet for its monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the TopNotch Diner, 628 High St., Cortland. Guest speaker will be Sarah Fowler, a state board of education member who will speak about the repeal of Common Core. All participants order and pay for a breakfast from the menu. All like-minded people are welcome.

Youngstown-Warren Chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society will have its 5th annual vatra (bonfire) picnic from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 26 on the grounds of the Infant of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church, 7754 South Ave., Boardman. SUPPORT GROUPS

Caregiver Support Group will meet Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yellow Brick Place, 2959 Canfield Road, Suite 10.

Codependency and Grief Support Group will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Sheepfold Ministries, 233 North Ave. Sharon, Pa. A meeting also will take place at 7 p.m. at the care center of the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, North Main St., Hubbard. Group sessions are free, but participants must register to participate. The support group was formed to reach out to help families who have lost loved ones to alcohol or substance abuse.

Friendship Train 12-Step Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave. People who are trying to overcome any addiction are welcome and encouraged to attend. Those attending should enter through the church’s lower parking lot off Wardle.
