A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:
GIRARD
Aug. 13
Arrests: While responding to a disturbance in a Forsythe Avenue neighborhood, police charged three Girard boys, one age 11 and two age 15, with disorderly conduct after several residents alleged the boys had screamed profanities and made threats, all part of a pattern of causing problems in the area throughout the summer.
Trespassing: Criminal-trespassing charges were pending against two Girard boys, no ages given, after they were reportedly among the juveniles who had tossed an object and struck a residence in the 300 block of Forsythe Avenue.
Aug. 14
Recovered property: A man reported having found next to a vehicle on Ohio Avenue a torn bag he believed contained drug residue.
Menacing: A North Highland Avenue man said his former girlfriend had sent and made multiple text messages and calls to him, some of which were vulgar in nature and one that contained a threat.
Misuse of a credit card: A woman discovered a series of suspicious debit-card transactions that occurred at a U.S. Route 422 gas station and totaled about $52.
LIBERTY
Aug. 11
Citation: While dealing with a domestic dispute at a Belmont Avenue motel, police issued a minor-misdemeanor citation to Amanda L. Phillips, 32, of Washington, Pa., charging her with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after alleging she had caused a disturbance while refusing to leave her boyfriend’s room after they had been separated.
Drugs: A traffic stop near Belmont and Trumbull avenues resulted in the arrest of Angela R. Wright, 26, on a drug-abuse charge after police alleged the Columbus woman had a small bag of suspected marijuana.
Arrest: Township authorities met with Austintown police, who relinquished custody of Shedrick D. Nichols, 21, of Eastway Drive, Youngstown. Nichols was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in Girard Municipal Court.
Criminal mischief: Someone reportedly struck an Ohio Trail residence with six to 10 eggs.
Aug. 12
Arrest: After pulling her over on Belmont Avenue, officers charged Raquele A. Johnson, 45, of Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, with operating a vehicle impaired. Johnson registered a 0.103 blood-alcohol content, which slightly exceeds Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report stated.
Possible drug overdose: Authorities responded to a report of a male in the 4000 block of Logan Way who may have overdosed. The man was reportedly in and out of consciousness, then taken to a hospital, a report said.
Criminal damaging: A worker for an East Liberty Street motel noticed all of his vehicle’s tires had been flattened. Damage came to $600.
Aug. 13
Aggravated menacing: A Chrysann Drive man alleged his girlfriend’s former boyfriend had threatened on the phone to shoot him.
Arrest: Boardman police handed to Liberty authorities Darius Beasley, 25, of Burlington Street, Youngstown. He was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.
Theft: A woman reported assorted jewelry, an Xbox controller and over-the-counter medication missing from her Keefer Road residence.
Aug. 14
Arrest: While responding to two shoplifters at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, officers arrested Bernard D. Richardson Sr., 35, upon discovering Richardson, of Willard Avenue Southeast, Warren, was wanted on a Howland Township warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Aggravated menacing: A Youngstown woman alleged another woman, 39, nearly struck her with a vehicle during an incident in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue.
Damage: A man saw that two ground wires had been cut, possibly with a wire cutter, after he had new phone service installed at his Logan Arms Drive home.
Criminal mischief: Twelve eggs reportedly were tossed at a residence in the 4700 block of East Drive.
Criminal damaging: A Monticello Boulevard woman noticed two tires had been slashed on her vehicle, which also had a broken passenger-side window. Damage was estimated at $500.
Domestic violence: Amanda L. Phillips, 32, who listed addresses in Washington, Pa., and on Belmont Avenue in Liberty, faced charges of domestic violence, criminal damaging and resisting arrest after a fight with her boyfriend in which she allegedly had broken a window to his motel room in an effort to go after him. An intoxicated Phillips also fought with police and tried to kick an officer in the shin and groin area, a report showed.
Drugs: Authorities at a Belmont Avenue gas station took into custody Jarett C. Morrison, 30, who was wanted on a warrant. Morrison, of Naylor-Lloyd Road, Girard, also was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when, police alleged, a suspected marijuana pipe and a bowl containing a small quantity of suspected marijuana were found.
Aug. 15
Arrest: After responding to an accident in which a vehicle reportedly had struck a dump truck in a construction zone on Belmont Avenue, officers charged Cedrick Cohill of Outlook Avenue, Youngstown, with falsification after alleging Cohill, 28, had provided a phony name and date of birth. He also was wanted on a felony warrant from Youngstown.
Domestic violence: A 14-year-old township boy was charged with the crime after his mother alleged he had attacked her during an argument, leaving scratches near her neck and ear as well as a large lump on her left forearm.
Theft: A Sampson Drive woman noticed an envelope containing $160 worth of gift cards had been removed from her car.
Aug. 16
Arrest: Police in Youngstown picked up Thomas H. Simmons, 63, of Forestview Avenue, Liberty, who was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court.
Threat: A Meadowland Drive man alleged a relative had made in implied threat to harm the accuser if he failed to settle a debt the relative insisted the man owes him.
HUBBARD
Aug. 12
Domestic violence: Justin Starrett-Fry, 24, of Hager Street, Hubbard, was charged after a woman alleged Starrett-Fry had struck another woman in the mouth during an ongoing argument.
Recovered property: A Youngstown-Hubbard Road man reported having found under a chair a handgun that belongs to a relative who is incarcerated.
Aug. 13
Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail took custody of Michael V. Maguire, 35, of Grandview Avenue, Hubbard, who was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear for a pretrial hearing.
Aug. 14
Arrest: Authorities responded to an unwanted person at a School Street home before charging Jennifer M. Richards-Goldberg of School Street, Hubbard, with resisting arrest. Richards-Goldberg, 27, who also was wanted on warrants from Girard Municipal Court and Mercer County, Pa., fought with and tried to kick officers as they attempted to remove her from a vehicle, they alleged.
Arrest: Brookfield police handed Tyler K. Ashley, 23, to Hubbard authorities. Ashley, of North Oakland Avenue, Sharon, Pa., was wanted on a warrant charging obstructing official business.
Child endangerment: While on routine patrol on Moore Street, an officer reported having seen an unattended 4-year-old child about 3 feet from the road in the 500 block. The child was unharmed and the guardian was notified. No charges were filed.
Aug. 15
Arrest: After a motorist had reportedly driven into a yard on Woodland Avenue, police charged Robert Campbell, 43, of Woodland, Hubbard, with operating a vehicle impaired. Campbell had not submitted to a Breathalyzer test, a report said.
Damage: A man reported a garbage truck had accidentally pulled down wires that led to his Clingan Street home, causing minor damage.
Citation: Officers issued a minor-misdemeanor citation charging Scott A. Wallace, 38, of School Street, Hubbard, with improper outside storage of junk, a violation of a township ordinance. Found were large piles of trash on and under a deck and on the front porch; in addition, two tires were in the backyard and a gallon of antifreeze was on the front steps, police reported.
