‘Death of a Showgirl’ at Rust Belt

Rust Belt Theater Company will present the premiere of its original burlesque murder-mystery “Death of a Showgirl” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with an additional show at midnight Saturday, at Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $15 ($10 for students and seniors); for reservations, call or text 330-507-2358. “Showgirl,” written and directed by Robert Dennick Joki, follows a group of bawdy burlesque performers as they reunite one year after the mysterious death of one of their own. The show features a variety of burlesque performances, ranging from the classic striptease, to comedy, to modern performance art, all intertwined with a ghostly murder-mystery. The cast includes, from left, Jessica Patoray, Heather Powell, Lynn Sabeh, Rick Morrow, Bernadette Lim and Amanda Rudnytsky.
