“Greenleaf” (10 p.m., OWN): The drama series returns for its mid-season premiere, the first of a two-night opener. It continues Wednesday at 10 p.m., which will become its regular time slot.

‘Sound of Music’ coming to Powers

A new touring production of “The Sound of Music” will come to Powers Auditorium on Dec. 19. Tickets range from $29 to $89 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office, 260 W. Federal St., by phone at 330-744-0264 and at youngstownsymphony.com.

“The Sound of Music,” which features songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, tells the story of Maria and the von Trapp family in Austria as World War II approaches.

The Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning musical includes the songs “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and the title song. A 2015 live television performance of the show, based on the 1965 film, drew more than 44 million viewers.

Miller Orchestra to play Stambaugh

The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will come to Stambaugh Auditorium on Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. for a Christmas concert. Tickets range from $15 to $30 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the Stambaugh box office, 1000 Fifth Ave.; by phone at 330-259-0555; and online at stambaughauditorium.com.

The late Glenn Miller is one of the best known names from the swing era. He was the best-selling recording artist from 1939 to 1943, with songs that include “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “A String of Pearls” and “Little Brown Jug.”
