“Teen Choice 2017” (8 p.m., Fox): This live two-hour event celebrates the year’s top stars from films, TV and music, and top moments in fashion, digital and comedy, with the coveted Surfboard Awards.

“Cars that Made America” (8 p.m., History): The first of three consecutive nights, this special event – presented and executive produced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. – uncovers the stories of the visionaries who built America’s vehicle landscape and chronicles the journey of how the biggest names of the automobile industry became household brands.
