Youngstown’s SCORE is presenting “Where’s the Money? What Lenders Look for in Your Business Plan” at its upcoming business networking series Bagels to Business from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 21 at Kravitz Deli, 3135 Belmont Ave.

Featured speakers are Brett Carnahan, Seven Seventeen Credit Union; Jeanette Cocher, Farmers National Bank; Mario Nero, Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corp.; and Tom Sangrik, U.S. Small Business Administration.

The event is free. Bagels and coffee will be served.

Chamber schedules Power Lunch program

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a Power Lunch program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at The Upstairs, 4500 Mahoning Ave.

The monthly event brings members together to start building meaningful networks. Time and space is limited, and these events often are filled early.

Session targets ‘Laws of Leadership’

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, in partnership with chamber member Greg Smith of Compco Industries and Greg Smith Leadership, will have a session called “Laws of Leadership: 15 Laws of Personal Growth” based on John Maxwell’s book “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth” from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Aug. 23 at Ciminero’s, 123 N. Main St.

Business leaders throughout the Mahoning Valley will be volunteering their time to share their personal leadership experiences and then relate to one of Maxwell’s 15 laws.

The cost is $25 for members and $40 for nonmembers. The cost to register for all four programs is $80 for members and $135 for nonmembers.

Personal-trainer course

CANFIELD

The Adult Career Center at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, is offering a certified personal trainer course.

The course has an option to complete an employer internship. This program is for candidates who want instruction with in-depth, hands-on practical labs.

The 60-hour course runs from Oct. 7 through Nov. 18. The cost is $695 plus book expenses. The class runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
