FRIDAY

Coitsville Garden Club will meet at 6 p.m. for a picnic. Hostess will be Marlene McDowall.

SATURDAY

Sunflower Garden Club meeting will be presented by Hazel Howell, and the topic will be growing plants from seeds. Hostess will be Gladys Burnett.

UPCOMING

Holborn Herb Growers Guild will host its annual tea Sept. 10 in the Western Reserve Village at the Canfield Fairgrounds. Tours of the village buildings and samplings of teas and desserts will be available. Each guest will receive a teacup and saucer to take home, and the guild’s cookbook will be available for purchase. Cost is $10 per person and children under 8 will be admitted free of charge. Tickets are available from any HHGG member or by calling Carole Check at 330-720-7142.

Men's Garden Club of Youngstown will host its 53rd annual horticultural show at Fellows Riverside Gardens Aug. 26 and Aug. 27. Awards for heaviest tomato and largest zinnia will be given. Best of section ribbons will also be awarded in areas such as vegetables, annuals, perennials and more. Entries will be accepted from 7 to 10:30 a.m., Aug. 26.
