Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s next Bites and Bits of History Lunch Program is at noon Thursday at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St. Richard S. Scarsella, from the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will be the featured speaker. Learn about how a Mahoning Valley educator influenced American education, his local roots, the creation of his famous Eclectic Readers, and his enduring legacy as “America’s Schoolmaster”.
