What’s new in 2017?

The 171st Canfield Fair takes place Aug. 30 through Sept. 4. What’s new?

Akron Children’s Day on Aug. 31: activities for children including a life-sized game of Operation.

Interactive program this year: Canfield Fair Ag-Venture, which takes participants on a tour of the agricultural side of the fair

Partnership with JAC LIVE: It makes fair concert tickets available on ticketmaster.com

Performances this year: John Mellencamp on Sept. 3 with special guest Carlene Carter; and Chris Young on Sept. 4

Horse and pony racing: Junior Fair Races will take place noon to 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the grandstand

For senior citizens: Water and cooling stations at both sides of the fairgrounds Wednesday through Friday.
