Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition talks about innovation today

YOUNGSTOWN

Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition President Brian Benyo says Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel is an integral player to MVMC's growth.

"It was a no-brainer to me when Brian [Benyo]... said, 'Hey, we have got to create a facility, a center, that will give us a chance to bring in the technology and expertise we need so we can be highly competitive,'" Tressel said.

The Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition is meeting now to present first-hand accounts of the Mahoning Valley Innovation and Commercialization Center, a $20 million state-of-the-art shared-use facility to support manufacturing training and research and development. Tressel will share specific plans for the center to be located in downtown Youngstown and discuss manufacturers can tap into the programs and equipment available at the facility.
