Jury finds Boardman man not guilty in rape case

YOUNGSTOWN — A Boardman man accused of raping a 12-year-old family member with special needs was found not guilty by a jury.

Eric Damore, 44, was charged with rape and gross sexual imposition. If convicted, he would have faced life in prison.

The events in question were said to have happened when the victim spent the night at Damore's house in 2014.

The victim had autism and developmental disabilities.
