Ex-Warren attorney sentenced for theft

CHARDON

Maridee Constanzo, a former Warren attorney who spent eight years in prison for trying to hire a hit man to kill her estranged husband, has pleaded guilty in a Geauga County theft ring.

Costanzo, 59, of Genesee Avenue Northeast in Warren, pleaded guilty in Geauga County Common Pleas Court Thursday to receiving stolen property. She will be sentenced next Thursday. She could get up to 12 months in prison.

Costanzo was among four people arrested in connection to theft of more than $100,000 in antiques and historic artifacts from a Geauga County home.

Benefit car show to help food pantry

NEW WATERFORD

For the third-consecutive year, Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46, will host a Cruise Against Hunger car show from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday to raise money for the local food pantry.

Co-sponsored by the Salem Arby’s Cruisin’ Crew, the show has raised more than $3,600 the past two years. Ginny Holland, a member of Abundant Life, a pantry volunteer and a car show enthusiast, is show coordinator.

The show will benefit Crestview Churches Community Concerns Food Pantry. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Owners of the first 50 car entries will receive a dash plaque commemorating the event. The show, open to all makes and models of cars, will display the vehicles in the church parking lot.

Mahoning judge gives oath to 11 new citizens

YOUNGSTOWN

Judge Anthony M. D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court administered the oath of allegiance to 11 new citizens at a naturalization ceremony at the county courthouse this week. One chose not to have his or her name published.

The new citizens, their country of origin, and their home towns are: Thanh Minh Vo, Vietnam, Boardman; Stefanos Nikolaos Passas, Greece, Boardman; Eliyasa Dampha, The Gambia, Austintown; Silvio Andree Gomez Santisteban, Guatemala, Campbell; Aiza Alquiza Briggs, Philippines, Berlin Center; Cassandra Melisha Lawrence, Jamaica, Youngstown; Akram Qaym, Uzbekistan, Beloit; Daniela Solomon, Romania, Youngstown; Ramesh Dangol, Nepal, Canfield; and Diana Amrit, Guyana, Boardman.

19-year-old killed in 1-vehicle accident

MERCER, PA.

A 19-year-old Grove City, Pa., man was killed and two 17-year-old juveniles seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday along Amsterdam Road in Liberty Township in Mercer County.

Pronounced dead at the scene was Darrian J. Snow, a front-seat passenger. The driver and back-seat passenger were transported by ambulance to a hospital, according to officers from the Pennsylvania State Police Mercer Post.

Authorities reported one of the juveniles lost control of the pickup truck he was driving on a slight bend, went off the roadway and hit a culvert and then struck a tree head-on.

State police said seat belts were not used by anyone in the vehicle and marijuana paraphernalia was found in the truck. The investigation into the crash continues.
