Positions moving

YOUNGSTOWN

In July, Mercy Health announced it will be relocating 40 patient-access-center and back-office positions from Youngstown to its main Revenue Cycle Facility in Mason, Ohio, this month.

All affected employees will have the opportunity to relocate to Mason and were provided with a relocation benefit option to enable them to do so. Mercy Health’s Talent Exchange Program will work with individuals to identify available positions within Mercy Health, the hospital said.

Hospital anniversary

BOARDMAN

St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, 8401 Market St., is marking its 10-year anniversary.

Since first joining the community as a fully established hospital in 2007, St. Elizabeth Boardman has admitted more than 102,000 patients, treated 465,000 visits to its emergency room, welcomed nearly 10,500 new babies and invested nearly $50 million in community benefit, largely in charity care.

One of the three hospitals that make up Mercy Health-Youngstown, St. Elizabeth Boardman now includes more than 480 physicians as part of its medical staff, 90 allied-health professionals with privileges, nearly 850 employees and three residency programs.

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Pet Valu, 427 E. Main St., at 9 a.m. Friday.

Pet Valu offers more than 7,000 products, including holistic and premium brands of pet foods and treats, as well as a selection of essential and innovative pet supplies.

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for River Falls Recovery House, 150 Charles Court, at 11 a.m. Friday.

River Falls Recovery House is an adult male, peer-managed residence for those in early recovery. River Falls’ mission is to provide a safe, stigma-free environment through education, mentoring and peer-based methods.

Ohio ranked sixth nationwide for distributed wind-energy creation in 2016.

The U.S. Department of Energy released its “Annual Wind Market Reports” this week, which included three reports detailing energy creation from the technologies, offshore and distributed market sectors.

Wind energy currently employs 101,738 people in the U.S., growing 32 percent from last year, the report says.

Walmart tests app that lets shoppers skip checkout lines

NEW YORK

Walmart is bringing back an app that lets shoppers skip the checkout line and pay for items themselves on their smartphones. It first tested a version of the app, called Scan & Go, in 2013. But it discontinued it after customers said it was confusing to use.
