“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): Cheryl Kanetsky, the new executive director of the East Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the increase in federal funding for research and the upcoming fund-raising walks in the Valley.
Next, Catie Dargue and Jessica Giancola with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation northeast Ohio chapter, will discuss the chronic disease, and their upcoming golf tournament fundraiser.

Cars in the Park at Boardman Park
BOARDMAN
Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club’s annual Cars in the Park car show will take place Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Boardman Park, on U.S. Route 224. Admission is free for spectators.
Awards will be given in 23 classes. Registration forms can be downloaded at mvocc.com. Registration on the day of the event will open at 9 a.m. and close at 1 p.m.
Judging will start at 1:15 p.m., and the awards presentation will be at 4 p.m.
Nature artist’s work on display
YOUNGSTOWN
“Natural Selection: Discoveries in Bloom” by artist Doug McLarty is now on display at the Weller Gallery in the Davis Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.
McLarty’s nature-based images make use of intricate and often whimsical botanical designs along with unusual material combinations. He uses digital scanning technology to reveal unique patterns and perspectives.
This free exhibit will run through Sept. 17. A meet-the-artist reception will take place Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.
