The Western Reserve Fish & Game Association, 1058 W. Third St., will have a military shoot on its 100-yard outdoor range on the third Saturday of each month until late fall.
Shooters may use any rifle, as long as it’s not mounted on wheels. The cost is $5 per shooter, and participants must provide their own ammunition. AR shooters are encouraged to participate. For more information, email Cliff at catalinaii1964@yahoo.com.

Family Conservation Day will take place next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road.
Activities include shooting, archery, reptile show, petting zoo, pony rides, fishing, magic show and other outdoor fun.

Duck-blind lotteries
COLUMBUS
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is having a lottery for more than 270 permits to hunters wishing to construct a blind to hunt ducks and geese on select Ohio State Park lakes this waterfowl hunting season. All but one of the drawings will take place Aug. 19 at 16 state parks. Portage Lakes State Park will have its lottery Aug. 15. At all parks, applications will be taken locally with the lottery drawings following registration.
Interested applicants must appear in person at a participating state park office with proof of a 2017 Ohio hunting license, Ohio wetlands habitat stamp endorsement in the applicant’s name and a signed 2017 federal duck stamp.
There is a $50 nonrefundable permit fee for the state park lottery winners. For more information about waterfowl hunting seasons and regulations, call 800-WILDLIFE or visit wildohio.gov.
