Fraud sentencing
BOARDMAN
A Boardman woman, Andrea Trgovich, 50, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Akron to five years’ probation for her part in a scheme that collected tens of thousands of dollars from investors. The judge also ordered that Trgovich’s location be monitored for six months and that she make restitution in the amount of $95,000. After she pleaded guilty to one count of securities fraud, six counts of bank fraud were dropped as part of her plea agreement, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner. Prosecutors say Trgovich established Wellness Integrated Network in 2008 to develop and market a mobile, web-based software application that would enable users to manage diet, weight, and physical activities; but investigators say she collected $578,869 from them, while no product was ever developed.
