A Youngstown Board of Education member is compelling the district to comply with his public-records request through a complaint to the Ohio Supreme Court.
Dario Hunter filed his complaint Wednesday.
He requested on June 29 copies of emails, texts and any other written correspondence between CEO Krish Mohip and any employees or representatives of Atlantic Research Partners.
The request also included copies of any and all contracts or agreements the district and ARP entered into during the CEO’s tenure in office.
On June 30, Mary Carter of the district’s human resources department, responded she received the request and will respond in a reasonable amount of time.
As of Wednesday, Hunter said he has received none of the documents he requested.
“I made this request because I had some unanswered questions and wanted some hard data and information, and it just hasn’t been complied with in a reasonable amount of time,” Hunter said.
He requested the information about the district’s contact with ARP after discovering CEO Krish Mohip had ties to the company during his tenure in Chicago Public Schools.
“The public has a right to get records related to the district,” Hunter said. “If there is nothing to hide, then why hide?”
District spokeswoman Denise Dick said on behalf of the district: “We will review the complaint with legal counsel and respond in the appropriate court filings.”
