Salem theater offers ‘9 to 5’

Salem Community Theater will present “9 to 5, The Musical,” the stage adaptation of the 1980 movie featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, as its final production of the season.

The musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and again Aug. 11 and 12; and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 13.

The musical is directed by Dave Wack, with musical direction by Bret Cowden and choreography by Carrie Mazzuco.

Tickets are $15 ($11 for seniors and $9 for students) and can be purchased by calling the box office at 330-332-9688.

“9 to 5” takes place in an office, where an egotistical, chauvinistic boss pushes the workers to their wit’s end. Three unlikely friends then take control of their office and learn there is nothing they can’t do, even in a man’s world.
