Pymatuning Lake Fest to mark its 35th year

Pymatuning Lake Fest, one of the biggest and longest-running festivals in Ashtabula County, returns for its 35th year of family fun along the lake this weekend.
The Pymatuning State Park main beach area (5354 Pymatuning Lake Road, Andover, OH 44003), south of the Route 85 causeway, is the staging area for the event that features artisans and crafters, continuous entertainment Saturday and Sunday, rides and games, a new children’s sand-castle building contest, inflatable activities, pontoon boat rides, food concessions, a beauty pageant and contests for all ages.
The Lake Fest draw 15,000 to 18,000 people over the two days.
On Saturday, the Little Miss Pymatuning pageant will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
The entrance to the festival will be south on Pymatuning Lake Road, and not from the causeway highway, which will be an exit-only route.
There is a donation requested at the ticket gates for visitors.
Hours are 10 a.m. to dusk on Saturday, with a fireworks finale at about 9 p.m.; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
An all-day wristband for most kids’ activities is $7, and most of the other activities are free.
All dogs must be on a leash.
