Man faces gun, drug charges again after found passed out in car

YOUNGSTOWN — An 18-year-old man who was indicted in May and June on drug and weapons charges was arrested Monday on drug and weapons charges after he was found passed out in a car and then ran out of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Reports said police were called about 7:10 p.m. to the 400 block of Clearmount Avenue for a man passed out in a car and when they arrived they found LeQuan Charlton of East Judson Avenue passed out in the driver’s seat.

Reports said Charlton told police he had taken several pills and he nodded off several times and vomited each time he woke up.

Inside the car police found a semiautomatic handgun with an extended clip that had 22 rounds of ammunition inside and a bag filled with white powder.

When Charlton was taken to the hospital, reports said he ran out of an examination room.

He was caught a short time later in front of a building on Park Avenue, reports said.
