Man charged in hit-and-run death of jogger in Ohio
COLUMBUS (AP) — Authorities say a man has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in a hit-and-run crash that killed a jogger in Ohio.
A judge set bond at $50,000 for 32-year-old Jonathan B. Coffman, of Delaware, at a hearing today in Franklin County Municipal Court. Coffman is charged in the death of 66-year-old Linda J. Evans. Police say Evans’ body was found Monday morning a few feet from a road in the suburb of Westerville.
Police believe the Columbus woman was jogging when she was struck.
Police say Coffman told investigators he drove off the road in the area where Evans’ body was found and he had taken medication the night before the crash. Investigators say blood was found on Coffman’s vehicle.
Court records don’t show an attorney for Coffman.
