Rehab of Mercer County bridge begins May 8

Rehabilitation of the bridge that carries Reynolds Industrial Park Road over the Shenango River in Pymatuning Township, Mercer County, is to begin May 8, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced.
The 183-foot-long, structurally deficient, 57-year-old bridge on that road (state Route 4012) is about a half-mile east of state Route 18 and about 21/2 miles west of state Route 58.
Work will include rehabilitating the bridge deck and construction of new roadway approaches and updated drainage, guide rails and pavement markings.
The $835,000 project is expected to be completed Aug. 11.
The car detour will use Route 58, Wasser Bridge Road (Route 4003) and Route 18. The truck detour will use Route 58, state Route 358 and Route 18.
