A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

April 4

Menacing: Gail Miconi, 60, of Evergreen Motel, 485 W. Main St., was arrested for menacing.

April 6

Drug abuse: A minor student from Fountain Square Apartments was arrested for drug abuse at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

April 12

Harassing messages: A report of harassing messages was made at a home in the 20 block of Hunter’s Woods, but an intervention was provided to prevent any further messages.

April 22

Concealed weapon: Brandon Gaetano, 20, of S. Palmyra Road, Canfield, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon (brass knuckles) and Michael Herman, 37, of E. Marion Ave., Youngstown, was arrested for drug abuse.

April 23

Warrant: Matthew Schnur, 40, of North Palmyra Road, North Jackson was arrested on a Boardman warrant for breaking and entering.

AUSTINTOWN

April 17

Identity theft: A victim’s Social Security number was used for an account at a home in the 6000 block of Fairview Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted texts were reported at a home in the 200 block of N. Beverly Ave.

April 18

Menacing by stalking: An unknown male was following a female around the area at Wendy’s, 27 S. Raccoon Road.

Child endangering: Natalie Byers, 24,of Compass West Drive was arrested for child endangering after her 3-year-old child was found wandering around her apartment complex unattended. The child used a chair to open the door to Byers’ apartment and let herself out.

Unauthorized use: A 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was used without authorization at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Identity theft: A fraudulent tax refund was filed at a home in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.

April 19

Warrant: James Thomas, 29, of Timberbrook Drive, Canfield, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of drugs and drug abuse instruments.

Theft: A computer and printer were stolen by an unidentified man at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A man took nuts, Corona beer and antifreeze from the Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Frank Musolino, 62, of Mahoning Avenue, was arrested for stealing a can of Ensure at Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

Bad checks: Checks with insufficient funds were passed for merchandise at Global Enterprises, 150 Victoria Road.

Child endangering: Deanne Hartman, 42, of Maureen Drive was arrested for child endangering after failing to respond to calls, texts and police officers calling for her at her window. Officers woke the woman up in her bedroom. Her 6-year-old came home from school to a locked front door and her 2-year-old was roaming around in the backyard. Dog feces and a dead rat were found on the back porch.

April 20

Recovered property: A set of keys was recovered at a home on North Kimberly Ave.

Theft: Deanna Shane, 45, of Pointview Street, Youngstown, was arrested for theft, possession of criminal tools and an unspecified warrant and Wendall Hall, 45, of Toth Street, Campbell, was charged with theft after $257.72 worth of steaks and some freezer bag containers were taken from Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave. The woman put the steaks in two duffle bags.

Criminal damaging: A window and a screen were damaged at Austintown Community Preschool, state Route 46.

Fraud: Checks totalling $13,903 were passed fraudulently at Southwind Transportation Services, 5437 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An employee was returning merchandise for cash at Family Farm and Home, 4477 Mahoning Ave.

Disorderly conduct: Javante Curry, 18, of New Road was issued a summons for disorderly conduct after a fight with a juvenile male at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Criminal trespassing: Bonnie Hudsick, 60, homeless, was arrested for criminal trespassing at Yolo Restaurant, 5529 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Nechal Rice, 24, of Bell Street, Warren was arrested for stealing $340.81 of clothing at Walmart.

Child endangering: Jennifer Kellin, 40, of Carnegie Avenue, was arrested on three counts of child endangering.

Drug offense: Lamarous Belcher, 37, of Lancaster Drive was arrested on a warrant for parole violation in Franklin County after an original charge of attempted murder. He was also issued a summons for drug abuse of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Tramadol.

Criminal damaging: A tire was cut at a home in the 4000 block of East Radio Road.

April 21

Auto theft: A 2015 Kia was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Wedgewood Drive. The car was later found burned out in Pymatuning State Park.

Fraud: $217 was charged to an account at a home in the 2000 block of Innwood Drive.

April 22

Drug offense: Melissa Lucas, 42, of Grandview Road, Lake Milton was issued a summons for possession of four, 1 mg. Lorazepam.

Fraud: An account was opened fraudulently at a home in the 1000 block of Eastwind Place.

Theft: An LG cellphone was stolen at the Sleep Inn, 5555 Interstate Blvd.

April 23

Disorderly conduct: Theresa Whitaker, 25, of Cherry Hill Avenue, Youngstown, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct at Hillbrook Apartments, 502 S. Raccoon Road.
