The Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church Young Adult Ministry will host Evangelism Outreach Day.

The free public event will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave.

There will be free food, worship music, prayer, dance, testimonies, a free clothing giveaway and more.

Catapult hires Nuzzi

Catapult Learning Inc. announced the hiring of the Rev. Ronald Nuzzi, Ph.D., as executive director of Equitable Access and Excellence.

In his new role, Father Nuzzi will lead a national effort to ensure equitable services for all students attending Catholic schools. He also will work with the Catapult Learning professional development team to develop and deliver specialized programs for Catholic school leaders across the country.

Devotion service

YOUNGSTOWN

The annual Night to Honor the Blessed Virgin Mary will take place at 7 p.m. Friday in St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave.

Bishop George V. Murry of Youngstown will preside at the devotional service to honor the Blessed Mother.

All are invited to the service that will include Scripture readings, a homily, hymns and recitations of the rosary.

Commemorative bricks

Tabernacle Baptist Church is commemorating church members, family and friends.

The public can partner in celebrating both the history and future of Tabernacle by adding their name, or the name of a loved one, to the lasting legacy of Tabernacle.

The cost of bricks starts at $150 for a standard 4-by-8-inch brick with three lines of engraving and up to 18 characters per line. There are also 8-by-8-inch or 12-inch square bricks for $200 and $250, respectively, available.

‘Praying with Clay’

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen Road, will offer a one-day presentation titled “Praying with Clay” from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. next Saturday by Sister Paulette Kirschensteiner.

Participants will be encouraged to bring the artist within to this creative prayer experience.

The day will include art, quiet, prayer and lunch. Supplies will be provided. The program will cost $35.

Divorce Survival Guide

The Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Life of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, in cooperation with St. George Parish, is offering “The Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide,” a DVD-based series with accompanying materials that brings hope, healing, wisdom and even wit to those who are divorced.

This professionally produced series includes top Catholic experts on relationships, love, sex, marriage, divorce, annulment and church teachings, plus the personal testimony of 12 divorced Catholic men and women who share their real-life stories of hope and healing.

Part 1 is being offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 9, 16, 23 and 30 at St. George Parish, 271 W. Chestnut St.

There is no cost; however, an optional book is available for $15.

Musical program set

EAST LIVERPOOL

First United Methodist Church of East Liverpool, 200 W. Fifth St., will host a musical program of piano solo, organ solo, piano and organ duets, and even piano quartets using two grand pianos at a time.

The program will take place at 4 p.m. May 7 and will feature area church musicians.

The concert is free, and everyone is welcome. A free-will offering will be taken and light refreshments will follow the program.

Golf scramble planned

Heart Reach Neighborhood Ministries will host a four-person golf scramble beginning at 9 a.m. May 8 at Pine Lakes Golf Course, 6233 W. Liberty St.

This is a day of golf, food, prizes and fun to help support the outreach to children in the Mahoning Valley.

Hour of Power revival

FARRELL, PA.

“Men of Power” of Hour of Power is hosting a three-night revival at 7 p.m. May 9 through May 11.

The theme is “Reviving the Spirit,” and the event will take place at Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1126 Fruit Ave.

The May 9 speaker is Brother Clay Wilson, and the May 10 speaker is Minister Stephen Mariner.

International author

CANFIELD

The Ursuline Center, in cooperation with the Midwest Spirituality Center, Youngstown, will host international author and lecturer Michael Morwood for the presentation “Re-Forming: The Call to Be Faithful in Our World.”

An optional dinner will begin at 6 p.m. May 17 for $15 with proceeds benefiting ministries of The Ursuline Center, which will include the HIV/AIDS Ministry, Sister Jerome’s Mission College and the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

The two-hour presentation will begin at 7 p.m. There is no charge to attend, but free-will offerings will be accepted.

Anniversary celebration

YOUNGSTOWN

The Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor a wedding anniversary celebration at 2 p.m. June 11, at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., for couples observing their 25th, 40th, 50th and older wedding anniversaries in 2017.

The celebration will include Mass with Bishop George V. Murry, renewal of marriage vows and a personalized certificate for each couple.

After Mass, there will be a reception for the couples and their families in the cathedral hall.

Couples interested in participating must make reservations in advance by contacting their parish office before May 11.

Shredding event

YOUNGSTOWN

Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd., will host a document/paper-shredding event for anyone interested from 10 a.m. to noon May 13 in the church parking lot.

Mime presentation

YOUNGSTOWN

Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, 2045 Jacobs Road, will host The Mime Explosion.

This event is presented by the Triedstone Mighty Women of God Mime Ministry and will include mime, liturgical dance, flag and more.
