HUBBARD

April 22

Criminal mischief: Someone smashed a door window at St. Patrick Church of Hubbard, 367 N. Main St., and did an estimated $2,500 in damage.

April 23

Arrest: Officers at the Mahoning County jail picked up Juan E.M. Encarnacion, 27, of Dogwood Lane, Youngstown. He was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Domestic violence: Ryann U. Gardner, 23, of Hillview Drive, Hubbard, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Gardner had placed her in a chokehold, choked the accuser again and spit on her during an argument that continued to escalate.

April 24

Theft: A man told authorities two people jumped a fence and stole two global-positioning-system units from a boat he had stored in the 50 block of Oak Knoll Drive.

April 25

Theft of services: Police received a complaint that a Hubbard man, 65, had without permission thrown garbage into a trash bin that belongs to a West Liberty Street laundry facility.

April 26

Recovered property: A Stewart Avenue man reported having found a bicycle next to a tree in his side yard.

GIRARD

April 23

Theft: A Lincoln Avenue woman noticed a $400 push mower missing from a backyard shed.

Possible overdose: Officers responded to a possible drug overdose in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue, where a woman reportedly told them she had taken 10 to 15 Clonazepam pills, which are commonly used to treat panic attacks and certain seizure disorders.

April 24

Drugs: After pulling him over, authorities arrested Justin A. McIntosh, 29, on a Weathersfield Township warrant, then charged him with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug possession. McIntosh, of North Davis Street, Girard, had a bag containing cotton swabs, hypodermic needles and a spoon with suspected drug residue, all part of a drug kit; in addition, a small folded piece of paper with suspected heroin was found, police alleged.

Possible burglary: A woman called police after having found several doors to her Smithsonian Street home were open, though officers said they neither found anyone in the residence nor anything that had been disturbed.

Trespassing: Authorities were dispatched to a piece of property near a set of railroad tracks off Byers Avenue, where a 15-year-old boy reportedly had fallen into a deep hole. The teen was rescued and checked by paramedics, a police report stated.

Menacing: A Church Hill Road woman alleged another woman has been stalking her because of wanting to date the accuser’s boyfriend.

Arrest: A vehicle check on U.S. Route 422 led to the arrest of John A. DePascal, 62, of Dunn Drive, Girard, who was wanted on a felony warrant charging him with menacing by stalking.

April 25

Arrest: Officers took Elaine M. West, 57, into custody at her Trumbull Avenue residence upon learning the Girard woman was wanted on an Austintown warrant.

Criminal damaging: A Forsythe Avenue woman discovered three plastic lawn chairs had been burned before a 14-year-old boy reportedly admitted he and two other juveniles had committed the crime.

Theft: A South Davis Street woman reported another woman took her $900 cellphone that had been on a couch.

Menacing: A woman alleged that while driving near Shelby and Trumbull avenues, a Trumbull Avenue woman approached her car, called the accuser derogatory names and threatened to beat her up.

April 26

Criminal mischief: A man noticed scratches on his vehicle’s passenger-side doors and rear quarter panel after having dropped off a family member at a North Market Street church. The damage estimate was $800.

Harassment: An East Broadway Avenue woman said a relative has made such calls regarding the accuser’s daughter.

Arrest: Police responded to a one-car crash near South Elruth Court, then charged James A. Cupan of Indiana Avenue, Girard, with operating a vehicle impaired and leaving the scene of an accident. Cupan, 21, had a 0.183 blood-alcohol content, which is more than double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report showed.
