EGCC event

YOUNGSTOWN

Eastern Gateway Community College in Youngstown, 101 East Federal St., will have its First Annual Students United for Manufacturing event from 9:30 a.m. to noon today.

The event will highlight EGCC’s two-year machining and welding programs that will lead to an associate’s degree. The event will allow for an introduction to faculty and teachers and a tour of the facility to learn more about the school’s manufacturing programs.

Subaru donation

BOARDMAN

Boardman Subaru on Wednesday presented a check for $30,932 to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, the retailer’s “Hometown Charity” of choice for Subaru’s Share the Love program.

The program generated $25,932 from new Subaru owners who designated individual $250 donations provided by Subaru of America Inc. An additional $5,000 was donated by Boardman Subaru.

In the past three years of this program, Boardman Subaru has donated more than $95,000 to the local hospital.

Washington Prime Group Inc., the operator of Southern Park Mall in Boardman, on Wednesday reported results for the first quarter, which ended March 31, that reflect continued progress on the execution of the company’s financial, operating and strategic objectives.

Net income attributable to common shareholders for the first quarter of 2017 was $9.3 million, which is compared with $8.5 million made during the same quarter a year ago. Funds from operations for the first quarter of 2017 were $94 million, which compares with $91.7 million made during the same quarter a year ago.
