A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

April 20

Identity fraud: An elderly Clingan Road woman learned her personal information had been compromised.

April 21

Drugs: After having pulled a car over on state Route 170, authorities reportedly found a bag containing 3 grams of suspected marijuana, two devices commonly used to grind marijuana, a digital scale and a bag with a white powder.

April 23

Drugs: A traffic stop on state Route 616 reportedly led to the discovery of a small bag of suspected cocaine in the vehicle.

BOARDMAN

April 20

Arrest: A vehicle check near South Avenue resulted in the arrest of Jason S. Dunkle-Thacker, 22, of East Judson Avenue, Youngstown, on one felony count each of fleeing and eluding police, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon and being a convicted felon with a firearm, as well as one misdemeanor count of obstructing official business. Dunkle-Thacker led authorities on a vehicular pursuit along Midlothian Boulevard that reached about 60 mph, then led them on a foot chase on Youngstown’s South Side before a witness reported having seen him toss a .40-caliber handgun from the vehicle during the pursuit, a report showed.

Assault/unauthorized use of a vehicle: Officers responded to a fight at a Market Street car dealership, where a sales manager reported two women had assaulted him regarding a dispute before they fled in a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Theft: A Lockwood Boulevard woman reported the theft of a set of her husband’s school pictures he had ordered for his child.

Domestic violence: A 12-year-old township boy was accused of having pushed and kicked his mother’s boyfriend four or five times as the man tried to discipline the child. Also, the boy tossed a trash can, striking the victim’s chest area, he further alleged.

Drugs: Authorities booked Albert E. Miller Jr., 33, of Homestead Drive, Boardman, on warrants charging possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia related to a drug overdose Dec. 27, 2016, at the residence. A hypodermic needle a spoon with burn marks common in drug use and a small quantity of suspected heroin were found, a report stated.

Theft: A 32-foot extension ladder was removed from a yard in the 2000 block of Mathews Road.

Arrest: Officers charged Amy M. Niddel of Westview Avenue, Boardman, with violating a protection order after saying Niddel, 37, was on the property in violation of the order.

Theft: A woman in her 30s reportedly stole four articles of women’s athletic clothing valued at $165 from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Harassment: A Tippecanoe Road woman said she’s received a series of derogatory text messages and Facebook posts.

Theft: Police at Mahoning County Area Court on Market Street picked up Ashlyn M. Vlassich, 30, who was wanted on a felony-theft warrant. The Butler, Pa., woman was charged with stealing a Romaine Avenue woman’s wallet in February.

Arrests: While responding to a report of someone in distress on Glendale Avenue, authorities arrested Daryll D. Hall, 34, on a charge of obstructing official business after saying Hall, who also was wanted on a Columbiana County warrant, had refused several times to comply with officers. Also charged with obstructing official business was Hall’s neighbor, Debra A. Debozy, 55, when, police said, she interfered several times with their investigation.

Arrest: Authorities at Boardman Area Court took custody of Cheyenne K. Hough, 21, of Cook Avenue, Boardman, who had surrendered on a warrant charging her with obstructing official business. Hough was accused of providing false information Feb. 17 pertaining to a man who was wanted on a warrant, a report said.

April 21

Theft: A man reportedly stole several bottles of liquor from both township Giant Eagle stores, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, and 1201 Doral Drive.

Menacing: Police responded to a possible fight at a U.S. Route 224 doughnut shop, where a manager accused an employee’s mother threatened to harm her because of the way the accuser had spoken to the worker.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrest of Latefa D. Stanley, 23, on a charge of obstructing official business. Stanley, of Orange Avenue, Youngstown, gave a phony name and date of birth, police said.

Theft: Daniel J. Estep Jr., 34, and Charmaine A. Estep, 36, both of Ashtabula, were charged with attempted theft and theft after being accused of trying to steal two items from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd. They also were accused of taking a miter saw, a 12-volt drill and a dog-fence kit earlier this month from the big-box store.

Criminal damaging: A Tippecanoe Road woman told officers 100 small willow trees near her property line were run over and destroyed, for an estimated $1,796 loss.

Theft: A man reportedly fled on a bicycle, then on foot after having stolen six Wii games from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: Ruby N. Wilkie, 68, of Kendis Circle, Youngstown, was taken into custody in downtown Youngstown on a theft warrant related to an April 13 incident on a Western Reserve Transit Authority bus in which a woman had accidentally left her wallet on the vehicle after getting off near Glenwood Avenue and U.S. Route 224. Surveillance footage showed someone taking and concealing the property, a report stated.

April 22

Auto theft: A 2007 Ford Explorer was stolen from a driveway in the 700 block of Cheriwood Court.

Criminal damaging: A Lockwood Boulevard man reported a set of dishes and an apartment door damaged during an argument with his girlfriend.

Aggravated menacing: A Prestwick Drive woman alleged a neighbor who was walking a dog had threatened to shoot the accuser or her dog after having accused the victim’s animal of being too aggressive.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue, from which $820 in cash and an $800 pair of sunglasses were taken.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Lemans Drive man discovered a touch-screen car stereo, a global-positioning-system device and a control module stolen from his mother’s car, which also sustained $100 in damage to its dashboard.

Domestic violence: Gary W. Sharber, 51, of Indianola Road, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Sharber had pushed her against a wall, causing the accuser to hit her head on a door, during an argument that was apparently related to preparing dinner.

Vandalism: A tenant reportedly left numerous cigarette burns on carpeting and a bed sheet in a room before checking out of a South Avenue motel.

Burglary: Took place in the 20 block of Willow Drive. Stolen from the residence were a 65-inch flat-screen TV, 75 Xbox 360 games and related items, for an estimated $1,900 loss.

Theft: Rhiannon L. Summerville, 34, of Oneta Street, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of two pairs of shorts and a pair of pants from Kohl’s.

Citation: A traffic stop near Market Street resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging Jonathan Kpendema of East Ravenwood Avenue, Youngstown, with marijuana possession.

Domestic violence: Police charged Amber L. Rotunno of Argyle Avenue, Boardman, after her stepfather alleged Rotunno, 18, had punched him one time each in the jaw and head during an argument while assembling a bed frame.

Theft: Judea L. Knox, 22, of West Boston Avenue, and Ationna C. Crues, 24, of East Ravenwood Avenue, faced theft charges. The two Youngstown women were accused of taking about $530 worth of clothing from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Rodney E. Mock, 53, of Sanderson Avenue, Campbell, was charged in the theft of six 12-packs of energy drinks from Walmart.

April 23

Harassment: A Glenwood Avenue woman said an unidentified person has sent her a series of unwanted text messages that were sexual in nature.

Burglary/damage: Someone entered a township apartment via a side window before stealing two electronic tablets and damaging a 50-inch TV.

Breaking and entering: Canfield police handed to Boardman authorities Matthew C. Schnur, 40, of North Palmyra Road, North Jackson, who was wanted on a warrant charging him with breaking into John Fithian Contracting Co., 8010 Southern Blvd., in February 2016. Stolen property included $10,000 worth of hand tools, a report showed.

Theft: A Hopkins Road man told police he had loaned a $60 heater to someone who has refused to return it.

Burglary: Through an unlocked front door at a residence in the 100 block of Prestwick Drive. Nothing appeared to be missing, though several items had been knocked off a counter.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 10 block of Glenwood Avenue was found with minor scratches on its driver’s-side door.

Identity fraud: A Brainard Drive man learned his checking/debit card had been used to make fraudulent charges.

Theft: A Boardman woman noticed $4,800 missing from her purse while she was at a home in the 100 block of Indianola Road.

Breaking and entering: Someone shattered a main-door window, then broke into a warehouse at Contemporary Furniture Showcase, 8384 Market St., though it was undetermined if anything was stolen.
