MONDAY’S RESULTS

BASEBALL

Canfield 4, Poland 1

Jack Rafoth tossed a three-hitter and struck out five for the Cardinals (11-2). Anthony Vross, Mark Wittmann and Spencer Woolley each had a RBI. For Poland, Branden Olsen had two hits.

Boardman 9, Warren Harding 4

Don Stillione led Boardman with three hits. Noah Land had two hits, two RBIs and two stolen bases. Mike Fetsko and Luke Castillio each had two hits. For Warren Harding, Grant Williams, Nick Fitzgerald and Calvin Stouffer all had two hits.

Lakeview 6, Struthers 4

Preston Sheets doubled home the deciding run in the fifth inning. Sheets also got the save while Austin Vogt earned the win for the Bulldogs, striking out three and giving up two runs on 10 hits. Jake Shaffer and Jake Rudzik each had three hits for Struthers.

LaBrae 4, Newton Falls 2

JT Wolke pitched seven innings, striking out 11 and allowing five hits. He also had a hit, RBI and a stolen base. Colton Stoneman had two hits and two runs for LaBrae. Adam Honeycutt and Preston Rapczak scored for Newton Falls.

Hubbard 8, Edgewood 2

Newton Jamie Thomson had three hits and Kent Kroynocich had two hits with two RBIs for Hubbard. Jacob Zappitelli led Edgewood with two hits.

South Range 8, Springfield 3

Winning pitcher Dan Ritter (3-0) struck out five and walked none. Brycen James drove in two runs as he and Ritter each had two hits for the Raiders (12-4, 4-1 Inter-Tri County League Red). For the Tigers (6-8, 1-3), Russ Seymour had three hits and John Ritter two.

Jackson-Milton 13, Mineral Ridge 0

Eric Ostrowski (5-1) tossed a four-hitter, striking out seven and walking one. Sebastian Lay had two hits and three RBIs. Scott Mitchell also drove in three runs with two hits and he scored twice. Lay, Ostrowski and Joey Williams each doubled for the Bluejays (12-3, 7-0 ITCL Blue). For the Rams (2-10, 1-6), Jake Rhodes doubled.

Lisbon 12, Southern 0

Colin Sweeney and Marcus Nenichka doubled for Lisbon. Logan Bell gave up one hit while walking four and striking out six. Domanick Michael broke Bell’s no-hit bid with a double.

Western Reserve 9, Lowellville 1

Dom Velasquez two-hit the Rockets, striking out 11 to get the win. Ryan Demsky knocked in three runs and Garrett Mihalick, Jeep DiCioccio and Caleb Quinn each had two RBIs. Nate Solak collected Lowellville’s only RBI.

McDonald 8, Sebring 2

Nick Shiley pitched seven innings allowed five hits and struck out four. Dylan Portolese had one hit with three RBIs for McDonald. Drew Kleinman had one run and two hits for Sebring.

Warren JFK 10, Cleveland Central Catholic 0

Ryan Lee earned a win on the mound throwing five innings with seven strikeouts. Lee also had two hits with five RBIs and two stolen bases. Alex Burzynski had two runs, two hits and a RBI in the win for Warren JFK.

SOFTBALL

Cardinal Mooney 9, Edison 8

Conchetta Rinaldi had four hits and three RBIs. Bridget Sweeney hit a two-run double and CJ Sapp and Kelly Williams each had two hits for the Cardinals (8-3). Kayla Rutherford went the distance for the win.

Canfield 4, Poland 1

Bridget Durkin pitched the entire game and had five strikeouts. Allie Sammarco and Kaili Gross both had two hits with a RBI for Canfield. Ashley Wire threw five innings with four strikeouts and she also had a single in the game. Amanda Wire had two hits for Poland.

Austintown Fitch 11, Howland 2

McKenzie Luknis had a grand slam, single and six RBIs. Lanie Simons added a double, two singles and a stolen base. Ashley Fuller had six strikeouts on the mound for the win for the Falcons.

Champion 20, East 1

Allison Smith improved to 6-0 on the year while throwing four innings and striking out four with no walks. She also had two home runs. Meagan Turner also hit a home run with three RBIs. Jackie Mulvain had two hits with two RBIs for Champion.

Hubbard 12, Edgewood 0

Addy Jarvis tossed a one-hitter for the Eagles, striking out 11. Morgan Kist’s two hits included a two-run single. Also with multiple hits were Jarvis and Emma Wukelich each had three hits. Mikayla Smith and Ruth Sandberg had two apiece. Kristen Drake singled in the fourth inning for Edgewood.

Lakeview 24, Struthers 4

Kylee Mann had three hits, three RBIs and scored three times. Tori Wells had four hits including two home runs and four RBIs and she scored four times. Alex Romani had three hits and scored twice. Cait Kelm had three hits including a grand slam. She had five RBIs and scored three times. For the Wildcats, Khaylah Brown had a triple and scored twice while Erika Bayer had two doubles.

Brookfield 17, Campbell 0

Gabby Schiska threw her first no-hitter with 10 strikeouts. She also hit a two-run homer. Bailey Drapola and Kenzie Drapola both had home runst. Ella Simcox added a triple and Lauren Pesa had three RBIs for Brookfield.

Jackson-Milton 8, Mineral Ridge 4

Jackson-Milton’s Sierra Pierce struck out eight on the mound while hitting a home run and a triple at the plate. Ariel Laneve walked five and struck out two while taking the loss for Ridge.

Western Reserve 13, Lowellville 0

Layla Woolf struck out eight and walked three to get the win for the Blue Devils. Morgan Donithan hit two doubles for the Blue Devils. Lowellville’s Olivia Sotlar hit two doubles.

McDonald 17, Sebring 1

Rachel Ward threw five innings with 13 strikeouts and allowed three hits. She also had two runs, three hits and three RBIs. Kris Kelly led McDonald with seven RBIs on three hits and had three runs. Cheyenne Titus chipped in with three runs and three hits.

Columbiana 15, Leetonia 2

The Clippers have won 17 straight. Taylor Ross knocked home three runs on four hits. Kennedy Fullum hit an RBI triple for two RBIs. Emily Gosselin added a double. Marisa McDonough struck out seven while giving up two runs on three hits and no walks. For the Bears, Kristy Eckman hit a solo home run and a single.

Lisbon 30, Southern 3

Autumn Oehlstrom homered twice and doubled twice for Lisbon. Devyn Flory went yard once. Erin Boyle had two hits for Southern, scoring two runs. Sam Tinsley struck out five to get the win.

United 4, Crestview 2

Annie Patterson struck out 17 for United, taking a no-hitter into the sixth. Makenzie Daub hit a solo home run for Crestview. Two errors in the top of the seventh helped produce the winning runs for the Eagles.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Boardman 11, Poland 9

Boardman completes a three-game sweep of Poland. Alisa Earvin scored five times. Lindsay O’Nesti and Alexis Phillips scored twice and Kate Bodamer and Alexis Stutz each scored once. Sydney Phillips had a game-high six goals for Poland. Allyson Andrews had two goals and Baileigh Black scored once.
