Columbiana County Municipal Court to offer license restoration workshop
Staff report
COLUMBIANA
Columbiana County Municipal Court will host a license restoration workshop from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the court building on Saltwell Road.
The workshop, which is open to Columbiana County residents, allows drivers with license suspensions to meet one-on-one with representatives from the local Bureau of Motor Vehicles to learn how to have their licenses restored or how to obtain driving privileges.
Interested drivers should call the court at 330-424-5326 to schedule an appointment.
The program is now in its 10th year.
“I remember when Judge Carol Robb, along with local BMV Supervisor Darlene Jones, first came up with this idea to help get drivers legal,” Judge Mark Frost said in a statement. “It didn’t take long for them to convince me, since the steps necessary to help these folks involved making sure they were insured and responsible, while allowing them to keep employment and to provide for their families.
“This program is not designed to put dangerous drivers back on the road,” Judge Charles C. Amato added.
“Instead, we want to help those folks who have become ensnared by the complicated requirements of the licensing and insurance laws to get back to being responsible,” Judge Amato said.
