Ensembles in spring music fest at college

NEW WILMINGTON, PA.
Westminster College will present its spring music festival at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Orr Auditorium, featuring the jazz ensemble, chamber singers and Westminster College Symphony Orchestra. Admission is free.
The jazz ensemble, directed by Timothy Winfield, will perform Baylock’s “El Abrazo” and Nestico’s “Wind Machine.” Accompanied by the chamber singers, the jazz ensemble also will perform “Blue Moon,” featuring soloist Jace Armentrout, and “As Time Goes By,” featuring soloists Olivia Schmidt and Kaylee Krug.
The chamber singers, under the direction of Samuel Barbara, will perform a medley of “I Love You” and “What A Wonderful World,” and also “Unclouded Day” by Fred Johnson.
The symphony orchestra, directed by Melinda H. Crawford Perttu, will perform works by Dvorak, Sibelius, Beehhoven and Mozart, and also “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” with soloist Rhiannon Griffiths.
Concerto competition winners Joseph Bandi and Lauren Faber will perform with the orchestra.
