Kent Status Trumbull campus to sponsor wellness, career fairs

Kent State University at Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, will educate students about volunteer, wellness and career opportunities during Fair Week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The fair will take place each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Lower Commons and Student Union, located in the campus Classroom/Administration Building.

A volunteer and resource fair, featuring more than 20 local organizations, will be Tuesday. Students will learn about opportunities to help those in need via programs through the United Way of Trumbull County, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, Someplace Safe, Rock4Reason, The Camelot Center and more.

On Wednesday, a health fair will include wellness opportunities and free health screenings. That same day, the American Red Cross will have a blood drive, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Fair Week ends Thursday with a career fair. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes, and interview attire is recommended. Participants may take part in mock interviews and have their resumes critiqued by local human resources experts.

Participating companies include Vallourec, City Machine Technologies, Star Fab, Mercy Health, AVI Foodsystems, Windsor House, Federal Bureau of Prisons and iHeart Media.

All the fairs are open to the public. The event is accessible to those with impaired mobility and hearing. Parking is free.
