“The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” (8 p.m., HBO): Oprah Winfrey and Rose Byrne star in this film, based on the best-selling nonfiction book of the same name, that recounts how the unauthorized harvesting of a black woman’s cancerous cells in 1951 led to major medical breakthroughs and changed countless lives (story at right).

“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): William Burgess and Dan Palmer from Kent State University Trumbull campus will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the school’s informational fair week. It will include a Health and Resource Fair, a Volunteer Fair and a Career Fair, and each is free to the public.
Next, Eva Rollison and Pamela Stephens of the Rollison Foundation will discuss their third annual scholarship fundraiser in memory of Richard C. Rollison IV, who was killed in Warren three years ago.
Cossell Burton, George Freeman and Joe Meranto will discuss the partnership between the Youngstown Branch NAACP and Choffin Career and Technical Center.
“A Conversation with Dee” (Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WYTV-TV): Heart Reach Ministries in Youngstown and Neighborhood Ministries in Campbell are merging. Leaders from both organizations will talk about why they decided to team up and how their merger will address the most critical issues facing Valley residents. A golf outing is planned in May at Pine Lakes Golf Course to raise funds.
